An orchid especially for me

By golly do i feel like such a lucky girl. There is nothing more exhilarating than receiving your most favourite plant flower. Thanks to man for this wonderful anniversary gift.
I thought i'd share some more info about orchids.

The meaning & symbolism
The most highly coveted of ornamental plant; the delicate, exotic and graceful ORCHID represents love, luxury, beauty and strength.  The orchid flower meaning varies from country to country and different meanings are associated with the types of orchids.

The name orchid finds it origin in Ancient Greece and they have the ability to draw attention where ever they are. The meaning of orchids, in other words, stands for the symbol of love and affection. It has the ability to grow anywhere and has the resistance power to bloom under any condition, which makes it a symbol of love.

The orchid flower meaning symbolises a beautiful lady according to the Victorian era.  The other meanings of orchids stands for refinement, thoughtfulness, maturity and charm. The ancient Chinese even interpreted the orchid flower meaning as a symbol for many children.

Uses of Orchids
Orchids were used for many medicinal purposes in ancient times. They were thought to have healing properties and the ability to ward off diseases. The Chinese thought orchids had a cure for heart ailments, coughs and other illness. The Aztecs used to drink a mixture of vanilla orchid and chocolate. They thought it helped give them power and strength. Today, orchids have become an indoor ornamental flowering plant.
Orchids have become a popular houseplant due to different varieties of flowers available. They have the ability to impress people around them and win over the hearts of people who receive them. People spend hundreds of dollars to buy the hybrid varieties. The orchid flowers spread the universal meaning of love, beauty, wisdom and thoughtfulness. They also denote mature charm and therefore, are the most popular choice as a gift.
